TotalEnergies Launches France's Largest Biogas and Anaerobic Digestion Unit 🌱🇫🇷

TotalEnergies has officially commissioned the BioBéarn biogas production unit in Mourenx, making it the largest anaerobic digestion facility in France. With an annual capacity of 160 GWh, BioBéarn converts 220,000 tons of organic waste into renewable biomethane, equivalent to the annual energy needs of 32,000 residents. This project, certified sustainable by ISCC, aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 32,000 tons per year and will supply Saint-Gobain with 100 GWh of biomethane to support their greenhouse gas reduction goals. Local farmers and stakeholders are actively involved, ensuring the facility meets regional needs while promoting sustainable agriculture through the use of natural fertilizers. 🌍♻️
