Nvidia-backed Nscale valued at $14.6 billion in fresh funding round

The British artificial intelligence company Nscale has reached a $14.6 billion valuation after raising $2 billion in a Series C funding round. The company is backed by Nvidia, a major producer of AI chips, and the new investment highlights growing demand for large-scale AI computing infrastructure. The funding round was led by Aker and 8090 Industries, with participation from several major investors including Citadel, Dell Technologies, Jane Street, and Nvidia itself. As part of the announcement, several high-profile tech leaders will join Nscale’s board, including former Meta executives Nick Clegg and Sheryl Sandberg, along with former Yahoo president Susan Decker. Founded in 2024, Nscale focuses on providing large-scale AI computing infrastructure, including its own data centers, GPUs, and software systems to power advanced AI workloads. The company is preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO) and has hired Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase as underwriters, although a timeline for the listing has not yet been announced. The newly raised funds will be used to expand Nscale’s data-center capacity to meet rapidly growing demand for AI computing from major clients such as Microsoft and OpenAI.
