Mobius Renewables targets EU and North American biomethane growth

Infrastructure investor IFM Investors has launched Mobius Renewables, a Houston-based, vertically integrated low-carbon fuels platform focused on expanding biomethane production across North America and Europe. The company will be led by Cynthia Walker, who has been appointed President and CEO. Mobius Renewables aims to accelerate the development, production, distribution, and adoption of biomethane derived from landfill gas and anaerobic digestion. The platform combines IFM’s existing biomethane business GreenGasUSA with planned acquisitions of operating facilities and new projects originated by Mobius Fuels. Once fully assembled, the company is expected to reach over 5.5 million MMBtu per year of biomethane production and distribution capacity, positioning it among the largest biomethane producers globally. IFM said the launch reflects its long-term commitment to low-carbon fuels, with a strategy centered on disciplined growth, operational excellence, and targeted acquisitions. Mobius Renewables plans to expand biomethane demand across transport, marine fuels, power generation, gas utilities, industrial uses, and LNG supply chains, supporting decarbonization efforts in North America, Europe, and Asia. Walker previously founded and led Mobius Fuels LLC, a U.S. renewable natural gas developer and operator.
