Use of AI in Aviation

FTAI Aviation has partnered with Palantir to use its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to improve engine-maintenance supply chain operations. The AI analyzes parts needs for engine module builds, checks internal inventory, scans external suppliers and online marketplaces, and recommends sourcing options. While AIP can make some allocation decisions, final procurement decisions still rest with managers. FTAI plans to expand AIP into asset monitoring, purchasing guidance, and customer-driven demand forecasting—helping match engines to airframes and optimize buying and selling decisions. The company says early results from the partnership have been strong and will support more efficient engine maintenance for commercial aircraft.
