EnviTec’s and TT-Line’s Bio-Gas Project is on final stage.

Envi Tec Biogas and TT-Line have finalized a bio-LNG supply agreement after a successful 40-tonne trial delivery to TT-Line’s LNG-powered ferry Peter Pan. The partnership supports compliance with the EU’s Fuel EU Maritime regulation, which requires lower greenhouse gas intensity in marine fuels. TT-Line’s vessels Peter Pan and Nils Holgersson—the world’s largest LNG-powered Ro-Pax ferries—will now be able to refuel with bio-LNG both by bunker barge and by truck. TT-Line operates major passenger and freight routes between Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Sweden, transporting roughly one million passengers and 500,000 freight units annually. Envi Tec produces bio-LNG from organic waste streams such as manure, food waste, and agricultural residues, using its Envi Than upgrading technology and liquefaction systems. Part of the supply comes from its Bioenergy Park in Güstrow, Germany—the country’s largest integrated bio-LNG facility. According to Envi Tec, the bio-LNG can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 100% compared with marine diesel, supporting TT-Line’s strategy to exceed regulatory requirements and prepare its fleet for a more sustainable future.
