German company Envi Tec Biogas will build its first 1.4 MW biogas plant in Candelaria, Quezon Province, Philippines, supplying electricity to Meralco from June 2026. The plant will process poultry manure from 4.5 million broilers and rice-straw silage to generate renewable power and organic fertilizer. Construction resumes after restructuring the investor group. The site already has fermenters, a biogas engine, digestate lagoon, and other infrastructure, with remaining installations scheduled for early 2026.
