American AI Startup hits 2.3 B $

AI coding startup Cursor has rapidly become one of 2025’s biggest tech stories, raising a massive $2.3 billion Series D at a $29.3 billion valuation—nearly 12× higher than at the start of the year. Backed by Accel, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Thrive, Google, and Nvidia, the company now generates over $1 billion in annualized revenue and claims its AI writes more code than any other coding agent. Founded in 2022 by four MIT graduates, Cursor gained traction by integrating AI directly into code editors and adapting to developers’ styles. Its popularity among engineers led to early adoption inside major tech companies. Cursor is building its own AI model, Composer, to reduce reliance on costly external models like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google
