Accalia Point Solar PV Park Moves Toward Construction in Texas

Westbridge Renewable Energy’s 221 MWp (≈ 190 MWac) Accalia Point Solar PV Park has reached shovel-ready status, placing one of the Gulf Coast’s most ambitious clean-energy builds on track for a notice to proceed (NTP) later this year. Located on roughly 1,120 acres in Cameron County and slated to connect to ERCOT’s South Zone, the ground-mounted facility is designed to generate enough electricity to power an estimated 28,000 households. Development has progressed rapidly: - Interconnection — A full ERCOT study is completed. - Permitting — Environmental and land-use assessments are finalized. - Timeline — Optimistic COD is May 2025, with a conservative target in Q2 2027 per permit filings. The project will be built in a single phase, allowing Westbridge to capitalize on Texas’s strong solar resource and expanding grid demand. Once operational, Accalia Point will add significant capacity to the state’s renewable-energy portfolio while supporting local job creation during construction and long-term operations.
