🚀 French SSA Startup Look Up Secures €50M to Expand Global Space Radar Network

French space situational awareness (SSA) company Look Up has raised €50 million to accelerate the deployment of its global radar network for tracking space objects. The funding includes €24 million in equity led by London-based ETF Partners, a €15 million EU grant, and additional debt financing from banks. Founded in 2022 by former military and space agency officials, Look Up currently operates one radar in France and will use the funds to install two more radars in French Polynesia. The company aims to provide automated, intelligent space command and control (C2) solutions for governments and commercial clients, supporting space traffic management and long-term orbital safety. With over 60 employees, Look Up plans to scale to 100 by year-end and expand internationally. Co-founder Michel Friedling, former head of French Space Command, emphasized the mission to deliver the very tools he once needed in his defense role.
