🚀 GE Aerospace Leverages Supercomputers for Jet Engine Innovation

GE Aerospace is harnessing the power of exascale supercomputers to revolutionize jet engine development. Since 2022, the company has secured over 3 million computing hours through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), using two of the world’s fastest supercomputers—Frontier and Aurora.

In collaboration with Boeing and NASA, GE Aerospace is utilizing these powerful machines to refine its Open Fan engine architecture, optimizing aerodynamics for greater efficiency, reduced noise, and lower fuel consumption. This research is a key component of CFM International’s RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines) program, which aims to develop hybrid-electric systems and engines compatible with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), targeting a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency.

With high-performance computing driving innovation, GE Aerospace continues to push the boundaries of sustainable aviation technology.

🚗 Stellantis to Produce Hybrid Car Parts at Termoli Plant Amid EV Battery Plans

Stellantis has announced plans to manufacture dual-clutch transmissions (eDCTs) for hybrid vehicles at its Termoli plant in Southern Italy. The site, initially designated for an electric vehicle (EV) battery gigafactory by its joint venture ACC, will produce 300,000 eDCT units annually starting in 2026.

This decision comes as ACC temporarily pauses its plans for gigafactories in Italy and Germany, with a final decision expected no sooner than June. Meanwhile, Stellantis has also confirmed increased investment in its Metz plant in France, signaling its ongoing commitment to hybrid and EV technologies.

By leveraging the Termoli facility for hybrid components, Stellantis aims to meet current market demand while maintaining flexibility for future EV production.
