🌊 Valorem Joins Consortium for France’s AO9 Floating Wind Tender

Valorem has officially joined the Astenn Avel consortium—led by Elicio and Q Energy—to compete in France’s AO9 floating offshore wind tender. With over three decades of experience in renewables, Valorem adds strength in regional coordination, technical design, and socio-economic development. The AO9 tender focuses on expanding floating wind capacity in South Brittany, targeting 500 MW of new capacity near Groix and Belle-Île-en-Mer, close to the existing Pennavel (AO5) site. The wind farm is expected to be operational by 2032–2033. In November 2024, twelve candidates—including Elicio and Q Energy—were pre-qualified for AO9. The tender spans four offshore sites across South Brittany, the Mediterranean, and the South Atlantic, offering a total of up to 2,850 MW of new floating wind capacity. The announcement follows the recent full commissioning of France’s first floating wind project, Provence Grand Large (25 MW), in the Mediterranean.
