🧠 French Startup Chipiron Raises $17M to Revolutionize MRI Access

Paris-based healthtech startup Chipiron has raised $17 million in Series A funding to develop a portable, ultra-low-field MRI scanner that is 10 times more affordable than traditional machines. Targeting the $10B global MRI market, the startup aims to expand access to medical imaging for underserved communities, outpatient centers, and mobile care units. Founded in 2020, Chipiron is backed by Blast, EIC Fund, iXcore, and public bodies including France2030 and Bpifrance. The funding will support the launch of clinical prototypes by the end of 2025, with hospital trials set for 2026 and U.S. market expansion in focus. With over $22M raised to date, Chipiron is positioning itself as a disruptor in medical imaging, aiming to bring early diagnosis capabilities to places where MRI access has traditionally been limited.
