🌬️ RWE Secures 151 MW in France’s Latest Onshore Wind Tender

German energy giant RWE emerged as the top winner in France’s latest onshore wind tender, securing 151 MW across seven projects, as announced by the Commission de régulation de l’énergie (CRE). The tender, held under France’s Multiannual Energy Plan (PPE2), awarded a total of 930 MW to 23 companies at a weighted average price of €87.61/MWh. RWE will fully own five of the awarded projects, while the remaining two are being co-developed with Vent du Nord and Escofi. The installations, totaling 35 wind turbines, will span across Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, and Normandy, enhancing RWE’s geographic diversification and reducing intermittency risks. The projects are expected to be commissioned between 2027 and 2028, following regulatory and construction phases. This wind success follows RWE’s recent wins in French solar tenders, further cementing its role as a leading renewable energy player in France, amid intensifying competition in the onshore wind market.
