🔋 Dow to Power Texas Plant with Advanced Nuclear Reactors

Dow has applied for a permit to build the first U.S. commercial advanced nuclear power plant for an industrial site. Partnering with X-energy, Dow plans to install four small modular reactors at its Seadrift, Texas complex, aiming to replace natural gas with clean nuclear energy. The project could eliminate around 500,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. If approved, construction could begin by the end of the decade, with reactors operational in the early 2030s. The initiative is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and highlights nuclear power’s growing role in meeting rising electricity demands.
