♻️ AVR’s Rozenburg WTE Plant Fully Operational After Fire

After 18 months of recovery following a major fire, AVR’s waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in Rozenburg, the Netherlands, is once again generating heat at full capacity. The plant now fully supplies Eneco’s district heating network, which serves thousands of local residents and businesses. AVR began the phased restart of operations in October 2024, initially bringing three of its seven incineration lines back online. Over the following months, heat output was gradually increased, reaching full capacity in March 2025. During the plant’s downtime, temporary emergency boilers ensured continued heat supply to the community. These have now been dismantled, including the prominent unit installed across from the Ahoy event and conference complex. The plant’s full return marks a significant milestone in the region’s sustainable energy infrastructure.
