🔬Munich-based Marvel Fusion Secures €50M to Build World’s First Laser-Based Fusion Power Plant

Munich-based Marvel Fusion has raised an additional €50M in an extended Series B round, bringing its total capital raised to €385M. The round includes fresh investments from EQT Ventures, Siemens Energy Ventures, and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, which marks the EIC's first equity investment in fusion energy. The funding supports Marvel Fusion’s transition from R&D to industrial deployment, including the construction of a $150M laser facility in partnership with Colorado State University. The company is also collaborating with Siemens Energy to design a fully integrated laser-based fusion power plant. Founded in 2019, Marvel Fusion is pioneering a new fusion technology using high-energy lasers and nanoscience to unlock clean, reliable, and scalable energy. The goal is to achieve high-gain energy output and provide a competitive alternative to fossil fuels. With support from key public and private stakeholders such as SPRIND, Bayern Kapital, and Tengelmann Ventures, Marvel Fusion is on track to deliver a world-first in fusion power innovation.
