Eight Houston-based companies have earned spots on Time magazine and Statista’s 2025 ranking of America’s Top GreenTech Companies, highlighting the city’s growing influence in clean energy innovation. Leading the pack is Fervo Energy, ranked No. 6, recognized for its groundbreaking geothermal technology. The company began building what is projected to be the world’s largest geothermal plant in Utah, with full 400-megawatt capacity expected within three years. Already valued at $1.4 billion, Fervo was also named North American Company of the Year by Cleantech Group and appeared on Time’s 200 Best Inventions of 2024.
