🌍 Global Energy Giant Vitol Considers $3 Billion Sale of U.S. Shale Unit

Global energy trading giant Vitol is considering selling its U.S. shale oil and gas unit, VTX Energy Partners, in a potential deal valued at up to $3 billion (including debt), according to sources. VTX is among the few remaining privately-owned operators of scale in the Permian Basin, producing 46,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day across two counties in Texas. Vitol has reportedly hired Jefferies to assist with the sale process. However, talks are still in early stages and a deal is not guaranteed. This move comes amid a wave of consolidation in the U.S. energy sector, where public companies have been acquiring private operators to scale up in key oil-producing regions.
