Germany Awards 4GW in Largest-Ever Onshore Wind Auction ⚡

Germany's Federal Network Agency has awarded 4 gigawatts (GW) of capacity in its latest onshore wind tender, held on 1 February 2025, marking another significant step forward in the country’s renewable energy expansion. The tender was notably oversubscribed, with 506 bids submitted representing 4.9GW of capacity. In total, 422 bids were successful, while six were excluded from the process. The high level of participation once again reflects strong investor confidence and the momentum in Germany’s energy transition. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: The awarded capacity is spread across several federal states, with the highest volumes going to: - North Rhine-Westphalia: 116 projects totaling 1,256MW - Lower Saxony: 46 projects totaling 606MW - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 32 projects totaling 429MW - Brandenburg: 46 projects totaling 380MW
