German rocket developer Isar Aerospace secures new launch contract 🚀

German rocket developer Isar Aerospace has signed its first Asian customer, Japanese startup ElevationSpace, ahead of its highly anticipated Spectrum rocket debut. ElevationSpace has booked a 2026 launch for AOBA, a 200-kilogram spacecraft aimed at testing a recoverable microgravity platform. The decision was driven by Isar Aerospace’s flexible launch scheduling and direct injection capabilities into low Earth orbit (LEO). Isar Aerospace recently completed static-fire testing and is now awaiting a launch license from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority to conduct Spectrum’s first flight from Andøya Spaceport in Norway. The company has already scheduled its first two missions, carrying payloads for European institutions and businesses. Additionally, it has secured launch contracts with major space players such as Airbus, Spaceflight, Exotrail, and D-Orbit. Photo: isaraerospace.com
