Offshore Wind Tenders in 2025: Global Markets Open New Opportunities 🌍

Several countries are launching or advancing offshore wind tenders in 2025, paving the way for increased renewable energy capacity worldwide: 🇳🇱 Netherlands – The Dutch government will launch its next offshore wind tender in September 2025, offering 3 GW of capacity across three sites: IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A, IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B, and Nederwiek IA. The Nederwiek IB site, originally part of the auction, has been postponed to 2026 along with Nederwiek II & III. 🇮🇪 Ireland – The second Irish offshore wind auction (ORESS 2) is set for early 2025. The 900 MW Tonn Nua site off the coast of Waterford will be the first auction within Ireland’s new spatial plan for offshore renewables. 🇫🇮 Finland – The country will hold its first offshore wind tender in autumn 2025, following the approval of new legislation regulating offshore projects in its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). 🇪🇪 Estonia – Estonia will relaunch its 1.2 GW offshore wind auction for the Saare 1 area in January 2025 after the initial attempt failed to attract bids. The starting price is set at €1.32 million, with a minimum bid increment of €50,000. 🇨🇴 Colombia – The country’s first offshore wind tender will open in the first half of 2025, with nine companies qualifying, including DEME and Jan de Nul. The government plans to allocate 1-3 GW of capacity in the Atlántico, Bolívar, Magdalena, and Sucre regions. 🇵🇭 Philippines – The Green Energy Auction (GEA-5), set for Q3 2025, will offer offshore wind developers long-term market access, aligning with national energy planning.
