EIP Takes Majority Stake in German Baywa re ⚡

Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) is injecting an additional €150 million to bolster Baywa re’s capital, ensuring the company’s restructuring and transformation process. Following negotiations, EIP has increased its stake from 49% to 65%, making it the new majority shareholder, while Baywa AG retains 35%, pending antitrust approval. Baywa re will now focus on renewable energy project development and building its own independent power producer (IPP) portfolio. Under the "r.e.power" transformation program, the restructuring timeline has been extended from the end of 2027 to the end of 2028, supported by newly appointed leadership roles.
