German Isar Aerospace Completes Testing for First Spectrum Rocket 🚀

German space startup Isar Aerospace has successfully completed testing of its first Spectrum rocket, marking a major step toward its maiden flight. The company performed a 30-second static fire test of the first stage on February 14, following an earlier test of the upper stage last year. The launch is now pending regulatory approval from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority, with liftoff planned from Andøya Spaceport in Norway. Spectrum is designed to carry up to 1,000 kg to low Earth orbit, competing in Europe’s growing commercial space sector. While the first launch is a test flight, Isar is already producing its second and third Spectrum rockets and scaling up manufacturing to 30-40 rockets per year. The company aims to establish a high launch cadence, strengthening Europe’s independent access to space. Photo Credit: Isar Aerospace
