Tesla & Honda will buy 300 MW from New Texas Solar Farm ☀️

Tesla and Honda have signed virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) to buy all the electricity from Delilah I, a newly launched 300 MW solar farm in Lamar and Red River counties, Texas. Honda will acquire 200 MW, supporting its goal of sourcing 100% carbon-free electricity in North America. Tesla is purchasing 100 MW, likely to power its factories and Supercharger network. The project, developed by Invenergy and majority-owned by WEC Energy Group, is part of the Samson & Delilah solar portfolio, one of the largest solar projects in the U.S. The initiative boosts local job creation and economic development while adding more clean energy to the grid. This marks another major step in the corporate shift toward renewable energy, reinforcing Texas’s growing role as a leader in solar power expansion.
