Hintco Launches Second H2Global Tender Worth €2.5 Billion ⚡

Hintco has officially launched the second H2Global tender, backed by a €2.5 billion budget, potentially increasing to nearly €3 billion pending final approvals. This tender follows the EU Commission’s recent state aid notification and aims to accelerate the renewable hydrogen market. The auction is structured into five lots—four regional and one global—with joint funding from Germany and the Netherlands for one of the lots. The H2Global mechanism, known for its double-sided auction model, ensures competitive pricing, market liquidity, and infrastructure security for renewable hydrogen production. Timo Bollerhey, CEO of Hintco, highlighted the tender’s role in de-risking the hydrogen value chain, while Markus Exenberger of H2Global Foundation emphasized the importance of international cooperation in clean energy. With new eligibility criteria and contractual terms, this tender marks a significant step toward decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors, reinforcing H2Global’s impact on the global energy transition. 🚀
