🔋 Permascand Secures $13.7M DOE Grant for New Clean Hydrogen Manufacturing Facility in Houston

Permascand USA Inc., a subsidiary of Swedish manufacturing company Permascand, has been awarded a $13.7 million tax credit by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to build a new clean hydrogen manufacturing facility in Houston. The facility will produce high-performance electrodes using both new and recycled materials, contributing to the city’s clean energy transition. "We are proud to receive the support of the U.S. Department of Energy within their objective for clean energy," said Permascand CEO Fredrik Herlitz. "Our mission is to provide electrochemical solutions for the global green transition." The funding is part of the DOE’s $6 billion Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit program, which supports clean energy manufacturing, recycling, and industrial decarbonization. Permascand's project was selected among 140 finalists from over 800 applications. Houston, already a global energy leader, continues its push toward a sustainable hydrogen economy with this significant investment. Photo Credit: permascand.com
