🛳️ EU Invests €422M in Alternative Fuel Infrastructure

The European Commission has allocated €422 million through the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) to support 39 innovative projects aimed at expanding clean energy transport infrastructure across the EU. The funding will drive the development of hydrogen refueling stations, onshore power installations in ports, airport electrification, and alternative fuel solutions such as ammonia and methanol for shipping. Additionally, it will enable the installation of nearly 5,000 new charging points, including 626 megawatt chargers for both light- and heavy-duty vehicles. This initiative aligns with the EU’s goals to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and enhance industrial competitiveness, as highlighted in the recent Draghi Report. The next funding round, with €578 million still available, will close on June 11, 2025.
