✅ UK Grants Approval for Immingham Green Energy Terminal

The UK government has granted development consent for the Immingham Green Energy Terminal (IGET), marking a major milestone in the country’s green energy transition. The project, led by Associated British Ports (ABP), will establish a liquid bulk green energy terminal at the Port of Immingham, supporting green hydrogen production. The facility will import green ammonia, which will be stored and converted into green hydrogen for distribution across the UK. Air Products will be the first customer, with plans to produce up to 300MW of green hydrogen, creating 1,400 jobs and contributing £4.6 billion to the Humber region’s economy. IGET will also integrate with the Viking Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) cluster, reinforcing the UK’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Construction is set to begin in the coming months.
