🔋 GridStor Acquires 150 MW Texas Battery Storage Project to Meet Rising Energy Demand

GridStor has acquired a 150 MW / 300 MWh battery energy storage project in Texas from Balanced Rock Power. The project, set to be built in Hidalgo County, will help stabilize the ERCOT grid as Texas faces a projected 50% increase in peak energy demand by 2030. Expected to be operational by summer 2026, the project will support over 100 jobs during construction and enhance energy reliability for the region’s fast-growing industries. This marks GridStor’s fourth acquisition in a year and its second collaboration with BRP. Chris Taylor, CEO of GridStor, emphasized the impact of battery storage, stating: "Batteries provide energy that stabilizes the ERCOT electric grid and supply its hours of greatest demand every day. Our acquisition demonstrates GridStor's commitment to building facilities that help Texas sustain its historic economic expansion." With backing from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, GridStor continues its mission to develop large-scale battery storage solutions across North America.
