🚛 Cellcentric Advances Fuel Cell Production with New German Factory

Cellcentric, the fuel cell joint venture of Daimler Truck and Volvo Group, is taking a major step towards large-scale fuel cell production for heavy-duty trucks. The company has secured 16 hectares of land in Weilheim, where it plans to build KLIMA|WERK, a cutting-edge production site set to begin operations around 2030. In the meantime, industrialization efforts continue at the pilot factory in Esslingen, optimizing fuel cell manufacturing for the next generation of hydrogen-powered trucks. The move aligns with EU CO₂ regulations and the growing push for zero-emission transport solutions. With hydrogen infrastructure and market conditions still evolving, Cellcentric is adopting a flexible ramp-up strategy to ensure a smooth transition to mass production. By 2026, a fleet of 100 next-generation fuel cell trucks is expected to hit the roads, marking a significant step towards the decarbonization of long-haul transport. 🚀
