Andritz Expands Recycling Portfolio with ATN Engineering Acquisition ♻️

Austrian technology group Andritz has acquired Dutch firm ATN Engineering, a specialist in recycling technology for end-of-life refrigerators and freezers. This acquisition adds ATN’s advanced de-gasification and de-oiling systems to Andritz’s portfolio, strengthening its capabilities in handling hazardous materials. ATN’s unique drill head system enables the safe and efficient removal of oil and gas, processing up to 200 refrigerators per hour. The company has delivered over 200 de-gasification systems worldwide and also supplies recycling equipment for industrial coolers, air conditioning units, and heat pumps. Thomas Gemeiner, vice president of Andritz Recycling, called the acquisition a "significant step forward", emphasizing that Andritz can now offer a full suite of refrigerator recycling solutions from a single source. The move aligns with the company’s broader growth strategy in e-scrap, battery recycling, and waste-to-energy (WtE) solutions.
