📱 SpaceX & Apple Partner to Bring Starlink Connectivity to iPhones

Apple and SpaceX have officially partnered to integrate Starlink satellite connectivity into iPhones, expanding mobile coverage to remote areas across the U.S. through direct-to-cell service. T-Mobile, a key partner in the initiative, confirmed that iPhones are now eligible for Starlink’s satellite-powered trial phase, which initially supports text messaging, with voice and data services planned for a future rollout. This follows SpaceX and T-Mobile’s 2022 collaboration on the "SAVE LIVES" program, aimed at enhancing cell coverage via satellites. Initially, only select Android devices were included, but the latest iOS 18.3 update has extended eligibility to Apple users. The partnership gained momentum after FCC approval in November, allowing testing of satellite-based emergency connectivity. In October, Starlink’s direct-to-cell technology was used in North Carolina to restore communications following Hurricane Helene. While Apple and SpaceX have yet to comment publicly, this groundbreaking collaboration marks a major step in satellite-powered mobile connectivity, offering iPhone users better access in rural and disaster-affected areas.
