🌍 Anew Climate Enters Germany’s Biomethane Market

Anew Climate is expanding into the German biomethane sector, opening a new office in Munich to serve the transportation and industrial energy markets. With over 20 years of experience in North America’s biomethane and carbon removals industry, the company aims to become a key player in Europe, complementing its presence in Budapest and Madrid. CEO Angela Schwarz emphasized Anew’s commitment to low-carbon fuels, stating that the company is ready to collaborate with European partners to drive meaningful climate impact. The European biomethane sector is seeing rapid growth. This week, Anaergia announced a €100m agreement to build five biomethane plants in Italy, while Ukraine plans to open five new biomethane plants in 2025. Meanwhile, Europe's biogas and biomethane production in 2023 reached 22 bcm, covering 7% of the EU’s natural gas consumption.
