EsVolta and Captona Invest in Texas BESS While GridStor Expands in Arizona ⚡

Battery storage developer esVolta has finalized a preferred equity transaction with investor Captona for three Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Texas, totaling 1GWh of capacity. Meanwhile, GridStor has acquired a 400MWh storage project in Arizona as part of its expansion strategy. The Texas BESS projects, including the 150MW/300MWh Desert Willow facility in Seagoville, will benefit from $243 million in investment, supported by investment tax credit (ITC) transfers. These deals underscore the growing demand for grid-scale energy storage in the U.S., as developers and investors accelerate efforts to support renewable energy integration and grid reliability.
