♻️ BMW Partners with SK Tes to Advance Battery Recycling

BMW Group has announced a long-term collaboration with SK Tes, a global leader in battery recycling, to create a circular economy for high-voltage EV batteries. The partnership involves recycling batteries from BMW's development, production, and European markets that are no longer in use. In the initial phase, SK Tes’s recycling plant in Rotterdam will mechanically extract metal-containing black mass, which will then be processed further within the company’s global network. BMW emphasized the strategic importance of developing circular products, using more recycled materials, and strengthening supply chain resilience. SK Tes, owned by South Korea’s SK Ecoplant, operates over 40 locations globally, including 13 battery recycling plants across Asia and Europe. The collaboration aligns with BMW’s sustainability goals and SK Tes’s advanced recycling capabilities, setting a foundation for efficient resource recovery and innovation in battery life cycles.
