🌱 800 MW Green Hydrogen Project Launched in Northern Germany

Baltimore-based Constellation Energy Corp. is acquiring Houston’s Calpine Corp. in a $26.6 billion deal to create the largest clean energy provider in the U.S. Combining diverse portfolios of zero- and low-emission energy sources, including nuclear, geothermal, wind, solar, and battery storage, the merger will serve approximately 2.5 million customers. Calpine’s Baytown Carbon Capture Project and Constellation’s expansion of zero-emission energy projects underscore their commitment to sustainability and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Meanwhile, Denmark’s Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Germany’s Friesen Elektra have launched Project Anker, a green hydrogen facility near Wilhelmshaven, Northern Germany. Initially featuring a 400 MW electrolysis capacity with plans to expand to 800 MW, it will produce 80,000 tons of green hydrogen annually.
