☀️ Saudi Arabia Signs Deals for 1.7 GW Solar Projects

Saudi Arabia has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for three solar photovoltaic projects totaling 1.7 GW under its National Renewable Energy Program (NREP). The projects include: - Al-Masaa (1 GW) in Hail, awarded to a SPIC-EDF consortium at $0.013/kWh. - Al-Henakiyah 2 (400 MW) in Madinah, also awarded to SPIC-EDF at $0.015/kWh. - Rabigh 2 (300 MW) in Makkah, awarded to a consortium of Al Jomaih Energy and TotalEnergies at $0.018/kWh. These projects align with Saudi Arabia’s goal to generate 50% of electricity from renewables by 2030 and are part of a broader effort to allocate 19 GW under NREP, with plans for a further 4.5 GW in upcoming rounds.
