🌞⚡ Texas Solar Powers Google’s Clean Energy Goals 🌎

Elawan Energy, a Spanish renewable power company with its U.S. headquarters in Houston, has entered a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google to supply renewable energy from a 37-megawatt solar project in the Texas Hill Country. The agreement, facilitated through LEAP, a platform co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy, aims to accelerate clean energy procurement. This partnership aligns with Google’s goal to operate on 24/7 carbon-free energy across its global grid by 2030. Elawan Energy, part of the ORIX Group, is a leading developer and operator of wind and solar power plants worldwide, with 1.8 gigawatts of projects currently operational and 8 gigawatts under development. The Texas solar project, expected to go online in 2026, marks a significant step in expanding the company’s North American footprint. This initiative also underscores Texas’s rise as the leading state for new solar energy installations, recently surpassing California by adding 1.6 gigawatts of solar capacity this year, according to the American Clean Power Association.
