🌊 UK’s National Subsea Centre Secures Grant for AI-Driven Decommissioning Solution

The UK’s National Subsea Centre (NSC) and PlanSea, a spin-out from Robert Gordon University, have received a grant from the Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Enterprise to develop an AI-powered software demonstrator for subsea decommissioning optimization.

The project aims to:

  • Leverage AI to optimize both standalone and collaborative decommissioning campaigns.
  • Enable accurate simulation of strategies and their impact on key performance indicators.
  • Enhance operational visibility while offering digitalized processes.

The tool, set for trials in Q2 2025, is expected to reduce emissions, cut costs, and support the energy transition.
