🇫🇷⚡ Hydrogen and CO2 Hub to Transform Port-La Nouvelle by 2026 🌍💧

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to establish Port-La Nouvelle as a major hub for hydrogen and CO2 management. The collaboration between Teréga, DEME Concessions NV, Euroports, and the Occitanie Region aims to support the energy transition in France and Europe, with full operations targeted by 2026.
Key developments include the creation of port and logistics infrastructure to handle hydrogen and CO2. The port will be connected to major transport systems, positioning it as a platform for importing and exporting clean molecules, with a planned hydrogen import capacity of up to 2 million tons annually.
Significant expansions at Port-La Nouvelle include dredging to a depth of 15.9 meters to accommodate large vessels and the development of 150 hectares of land. Construction of specialized jetties for liquid bulk handling is also underway.
The project is integral to the Occitanie Region's €150 million REPOS strategy, which aims to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2050. This initiative is expected to boost the region’s energy infrastructure, create jobs, and solidify Occitanie's leadership in green hydrogen. 🌱🚢
