Port Houston’s PORT SHIFT initiative has been awarded close to $3 million from the EPA’s Clean Ports Program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act. This grant aims to promote cleaner air, cut emissions, and create green jobs. The PORT SHIFT program will utilize these funds to support zero-emission trucks, cleaner cargo handling, workforce training, and community engagement. Additionally, the grant will ensure power readiness across all seven wharves at the Bayport Container Terminal, paving the way for a more sustainable future for the port and its community.
