Orano has officially opened its new fully automated manufacturing plant in Cherbourg, Normandy, dedicated to producing TN Eagle casks for nuclear fuel transport and storage. Supported by the France Relance investment fund, the 6,600-square-meter facility utilizes advanced, weld-free manufacturing technology, significantly reducing production time from over 40 months to just 15. This innovative process allows the factory to produce up to 30 casks annually, with orders already placed by clients worldwide.

The TN Eagle casks, which have received approvals from both French and U.S. nuclear authorities, represent a robust, modular design tailored for global nuclear logistics solutions. Orano’s commitment to combining historical expertise with cutting-edge technology underscores its role in the nuclear energy and logistics sector.
