🚀 Texas-Based Firefly Aerospace Selected for NOAA Mission Launch in 2026 🌎

Texas-based Firefly Aerospace has been chosen by NASA to launch the QuickSounder mission for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in February 2026. This mission marks the inaugural launch of the NASA-NOAA Near Earth Orbit Network, which aims to develop a new global environmental satellite system. The network will focus on quickly building small to medium-sized satellites equipped with Earth-observing instruments for enhanced weather forecasting, disaster management, and climate monitoring. Firefly Aerospace, headquartered in Cedar Park, is also preparing for its upcoming launch of the Blue Ghost 1 lunar lander later this year.
