Sage Geosystems Expands DOD Partnership for Geothermal Energy in Texas 🌱⚡️

Sage Geosystems is enhancing its partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense to develop geothermal energy initiatives at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas. The company will utilize its proprietary Geopressured Geothermal Systems technology to assess the potential for baseload power generation, contributing to clean energy at the base.

The company is building a 3 megawatt commercial EarthStore geothermal energy storage facility in Christine, Texas, expected to be operational by December. Sage has partnered with Meta Platforms to deliver up to 150 megawatts of geothermal power generation.

This collaboration supports the Navy's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2045, with plans to establish a microgrid to reduce reliance on the utility grid. Recently, the Air Force awarded Sage a $1.9 million grant to explore clean energy generation for military bases using its Geopressured Geothermal Systems.
