U.S. Allocates $1.5 Billion for Power Grid Projects Across Six States

The U.S. government has committed $1.5 billion to enhance electricity transmission networks in the southwest, southeast, and New England regions. The funding, part of the second phase of the Transmission Facilitation Program under the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law, will support the development of nearly 1,000 miles of new transmission lines. These projects will boost grid resilience and expand access to clean energy in Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
