Decarbonization Projects at Rheinland Park, Germany: A Key Opportunity
Worley and Shell are collaborating on two major decarbonization efforts at the Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland in Germany. The hydrocracker conversion will repurpose the facility to produce 300,000 tonnes of high-quality lubricants annually, reducing carbon emissions by 620,000 tonnes. Additionally, the REFHYNE II project will install a 100 MW electrolyzer to produce 44,000 kilograms of renewable hydrogen daily, further cutting carbon intensity. Both projects present significant opportunities in sustainable energy and industrial decarbonization.
