The strategic alliance, announced during Climate Week in New York, focuses on climate infrastructure investments, advancing energy transition and electrification. Both companies will collaborate by sharing expertise to accelerate low-carbon infrastructure growth, with BBVA positioning itself as a leader in financing sustainability projects.
As part of its commitment, BBVA recently launched a sustainability hub in Houston, Texas, aiming to lead the financing of the energy transition in the United States. This hub is set to provide advisory and financing services for clean energy projects, reinforcing BBVA’s strategic focus on clean technologies and decarbonization.
KKR, with a strong background in renewable energy, has already made significant investments in climate-related ventures such as Zenobē, Avantus, and Ignis. This partnership highlights both companies’ efforts to support the transition to a low-carbon economy.
