China has agreed to buy 200 Boeing Opens New Tab Jets

China has reportedly agreed to purchase around 200 Boeing aircraft, with the potential for the deal to grow to as many as 750 planes, according to U.S. President Donald Trump. The aircraft are expected to be powered by engines from GE Aerospace. Specific details about the aircraft types and delivery schedules have not yet been announced. If completed, this would be Boeing’s first major order from China in nearly ten years, following a long period of trade tensions between China and the United States that limited Boeing’s access to the Chinese market. A deal exceeding 500 aircraft would become the largest order in aviation history, surpassing previous major airline agreements. The potential order would help China expand its fast-growing aviation sector, especially as domestic manufacturer COMAC struggles to meet production targets for the C919 jet. It would also help Boeing compete more strongly against rival Airbus, which has gained significant market share in China in recent years.
