Boeing repairing 25 737 MAX jets with wiring damage

Boeing is repairing up to 25 undelivered Boeing 737 MAX aircraft after discovering small scratches on wiring caused during manufacturing, according to people familiar with the matter. The issue could delay some aircraft deliveries in March, though it is still unclear whether April deliveries will also be affected. A Boeing spokesperson said the company’s teams are working to fix the wiring damage, and regulators have been notified. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed it is investigating the situation but cannot comment further while the investigation is ongoing. Boeing’s Chief Financial Officer Jay Malave is expected to address the issue and its potential impact at the Bank of America Global Industrials Conference on March 17. Despite the news, Boeing shares were up about 2% in midday trading on Friday.
