Trafigura, Venture Global sign five‑year US LNG supply deal

Commodity trader Trafigura and U.S. exporter Venture Global have signed a five-year agreement for the supply of about 0.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of U.S. liquefied natural GasMTPA (LNG), starting in 2026. The deal strengthens Trafigura’s access to North American LNG while helping Venture Global expand its portfolio with more mid-term contracts. CEO Mike Sable said the agreement supports the company’s strategy to diversify the duration of its LNG sales. The announcement follows Venture Global’s recent 20-year supply agreement with Korea’s Hannah Aerospace for 1.5 MTPA, highlighting continued global demand for U.S. LNG. Despite expectations that the global gas market may become more balanced later this year, buyers and traders are still seeking flexible American supply contracts to secure energy needs.
